10 years ago, only 4% of the outside surfaces at POCHECO were planted and therefore permeable. In 2014 that figure has risen to 40%! As such, 5200m2 of the planted surfaces on our site allow rainwater to penetrate into the ground. We follow the recommendations of the French Water Agency who advise us that rainwater should be allowed to infiltrate the ground as close as possible to the spot where it falls from the sky. This reduces the risk of flooding and prevents the rainwater from gathering and spreading pollution as it runs over the ground.
And we recover rainwater on our green roofs. 80% of the water we use is rainwater. We use it to clean our machines and dilute our inks. The envelopes you receive your bills and statements in are printed with rainwater and inks composed of natural pigments !
