Last Monday we organised a training session on the subject of soil quality. The teacher was Emmanuel Bourguignon who analysed the quality of the soil on our site, in particular in the orchard. By planting trees, sowing flowers and introducing earthworms to the patch of land, we have improved its quality and permeability. The plants aerate the soil and the quantity of organic matter has increased. We are ready to be plant herbs and vegetables between the trees. And we have hired a permanent permacultivator (permaculturer ?) whose job will be to look after the green spaces on our site and plant an edible forest and a vegetable garden.
